RailData is proudly leading the charge in implementing the Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) relating to Telematics Applications for Freight (TAF), a key subsystem of the European Union’s rail system. As an active participant in the TSI TAF change process, RailData has proposed several change requests to enhance related functionalities, supporting its members and users in meeting the obligations outlined in this EU regulation.
The TSI TAF was officially published in the Official Journal of the EU as Commission Regulation No 1305/2014 on December 11, 2014, and is available in all official EU languages. The English version can be downloaded here.
For additional details, visit the TAF TSI section of the European Union Agency for Railways (EUAR) website, which includes the TSI TAF Technical Documents (TDs), Data Catalogue, and the TSI TAF Masterplan. This masterplan outlines the implementation schedule for railway undertakings, infrastructure managers, wagon keepers, and other stakeholders in the European rail sector.
EUAR Validates RailData’s ISR System
We are delighted to share that the European Union Agency for Railways (EUAR) has confirmed the compliance of RailData’s ISR (International Service Reliability) wagon event messages with the official TSI TAF Data Catalogue. Following tests conducted in collaboration with RailData, the EUAR issued the following statement on March 28, 2018, in Valenciennes:
The tests performed by ERA, in agreement with RailData, validated the compliance of ISR messages with satisfactory results. RailData may use these results as evidence of soft compliance for its ISR wagon event messages, as outlined in chapters 4 and 5 of the TSI TAF Data Catalogue. As RailData’s ISR tool fully supports all nine standard wagon event messages described in chapters 4.2.7 and 4.2.8 of the TSI TAF, compliance with TAF procedures is also presumed.
