In 2022, a key focus for ORFEUS development was the creation of the new Electronic Consignment Note (ECN) schema version 1.6, designed to align with the TSI TAF (Technical Specification for Interoperability relating to Telematics Applications for Freight) data definitions.

This updated ORFEUS message was proposed as the standard format for the TAF Consignment Order Message (COM) through TAF Change Request 317. We are thrilled to announce that this proposal has been accepted, establishing the ORFEUS message as the official sector message for TAF COM. This milestone, achieved through the efforts of Telematics Expert Group 6 (TEG), established by the TAF-TAP TSI Joint Sector Group (JSG), marks a significant advancement for the rail freight sector.

The adoption of the ORFEUS message as the TAF COM standard will enable all ORFEUS users to seamlessly meet TAF COM requirements, significantly accelerating the implementation of COM across Europe.
