Data Quality Improvements

Accurate data is essential for efficient railway operations and providing reliable information to customers. RailData has prioritized data quality in its systems since its inception, and the Rail Freight Forward (RFF) initiative has further spurred efforts to enhance these standards.

To this end, the RailData team has implemented several tools to monitor and measure the quality of data received from railway undertaking users. A dedicated data quality dashboard has been established to track results and monitor ongoing improvements.

Phased Approach

  • Initial Focus: The first phase targets data quality improvements in the ISR system.
  • Future Expansion: Subsequent phases will extend these efforts to ORFEUS and other data systems.

Key Initiatives

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): A set of KPIs has been defined to address areas requiring significant improvement.
  • Regular Collaboration: RailData organizes regular meetings with ISR user railway undertakings to discuss data quality issues and identify solutions.

Significant progress has already been made, with additional enhancements underway for areas requiring more complex implementation. Stay tuned for further updates as RailData continues to elevate data quality across its systems to support the rail freight industry!
