Basel 17th April 2022. Correct information is of course precondition for effective steering of internal railway processes as well for provision of inromation to customers. RailData takes care about data quality in its systems since the beginning, anyway the Rail Freight Forward (RFF) initiative was additional impuls to do more.
Therefore the RailData Team implemented several tools to observe and measure quality of data received from its railway undertaking users. Data quality dashboard is established to oversee the results and to monitor the improvements.
In first phase, the effort is targeted to the ISR system data, in the next step it will be extended to ORFEUS and other data.
A number of key performance indicators (KPI) was defined in areas, where larger improvemnts are needed and expected.
Moreover, regular meetings with ISR user railway undertakings are organised to report about data quality issues and to look for solutions. Many improvements were achieved already and other are promised and will follow, where the implementation is more complex.
