RailData is excited to announce the implementation of version 1.5 of the ORFEUS Electronic Consignment Note (ECN) message, along with a new message flow to streamline the exchange of functional messages.
Key Features of Version 1.5
- Support for New Commercial Model: Enables contractual or successive carriers to order transport services not only from substitute carriers (Role 2) but also from traction providers (Role 3).
- Updated TAF Location Codes: Incorporates the new TAF location code structure for improved compatibility.
- Simplified Processing Rules: Streamlines integrity and acceptance rules for processing received messages.
- Enhanced Customs Codes: Adds new customs procedure codes to the CIM consignment note.
- Wagon Deletion Capability: Allows deletion of wagons during transport.
- Multiple Carriers with Same Code: Permits repetition of carriers using the same company code.
- ISR Event Processing Marker: Introduces a marker to support processing of ISR events.
- Email Delivery Option: Enables sending messages to carriers in Role 3 as PDF attachments via email.
- Sector Message Consideration: The electronic consignment order message for Role 3 carriers is under consideration as a sector-standard message to replace the TAF TSI consignment order message.
Updates to Message Flow
The new message flow is simplified by removing unused or unnecessary message types, while introducing new message types to support carriers in Role 3, enhancing operational efficiency.
The updated message version and flow are already deployed on the ORFEUS test system, with the transition to production expected before the end of the year.
Stay tuned for further updates as RailData continues to enhance its services for the rail industry!
