RailData is pleased to announce a comprehensive revision of its Statutes, culminating in the adoption of new Terms of Reference (ToR). Approved by the RailData General Assembly in Berlin on May 23, 2019, the new ToR introduce key changes to enhance accessibility and flexibility for users of RailData’s IT systems.
Key Updates in the ToR
- Separation of Membership and System Usage: RailData membership is no longer required to use our IT applications, enabling a new commercial model that makes it easier and more affordable for smaller railway undertakings to access our systems.
- Access for Non-Members: Companies can now utilize RailData applications without becoming members, expanding access to our services.
- Custom Feature Development: The ToR allow for the development of additional functionalities requested by individual or small groups of users, provided they fund the development.
- Cost Transparency: The new commercial model provides a clear framework for sharing RailData and project costs among members and application users. It includes a low-entry-fee option for smaller companies, tailored to their usage volumes.
All RailData members will be contacted to sign the new ToR, formalizing their commitment to this updated framework.
Benefits of the New Commercial Model
The revised model promotes greater transparency in cost allocation and lowers barriers for smaller railway undertakings to adopt RailData’s applications. This approach supports a more inclusive rail ecosystem, catering to the diverse needs of the industry.
